Collected yellow Welsh poppy seeds today. Lychnis coronaria (White and cerise pink) tomorrow. Some Salvia Cambridge Blue are starting, loads in a couple of weeks. There will be Mirabilis both yellow and cerise pink ( the 4 o'clock plant) and that scary Black poppy too,

I will have a few seeds of Meconopsis Lingholm which unlike many blue poppies do have fertile seed. I collected some last year and after storing them in the fridge all winter sowed them in my own compost in an unheated greenhouse more in hope than anything else. Bingo I have about 100 seedlings!!! They are bit tricky to not over water and once germinated you must not transplant too deep...I learnt both of these things the hard way! However the seedlings which I didn't manage to kill are all looking very healthy, so being no expert if I can succeed sure someone else will to. I dead headed most of the parent plants but not all so if anybody would like what I have when the seed is ripe for collecting just let me know. Send me a stamped addressed envelope and you are welcome to them.I am sort of up to my eyes in seedlings so won't be needing to sow any next year.Photo is of parent plant
