I just received Grevillea Clear View David, which looks dishevelled but healthy, but I understand it blooms any time of the year ...

I think it might have a spot of jet lag, @Victoria.

It looks to be a fairly prostrate form @Victoria.
            Mound forming at least.

I grew clear view David until it succumbed to a cold snap. It was definitely prostrate.

I have just got some powered pruners. Charge with a USB C connection. Due to a trapped nerve I can't do too many repetitive arm/hand movements and these are really helpful. You still have the accuracy to prune without the work. Not cheap but worth it.

I think @Victoria's cold snaps are likely to be less deadly. ;)

I like the look of those, @Baalmaiden. Every little adaptation helps ... though obviously another thing needing charging is not ideal.

I was not aware it was prostrate but don't mind if it is. Here is the description given from the supplier in Italy ...

'Clearview David' is an erect, bushy evergreen shrub, up to 1.5 meters tall and wide. Its narrow, needle-like leaves, reminiscent of rosemary, are dark green and persistent. The bright scarlet flowers appear along the branches in a veritable explosion of color, from February to June, with prolonged blooms in mild climates.

... and the picture shown ...

True, I don't think I will have that problem. ;)

Bought my usual lucky dip bargain basement 10 packets of seed for just under a fiver from Chiltern Seeds, plus a couple of other packets.

They include snow banana (never attempted them before), ricin - zanzi palm, sempervivum and Chiltern Roof Mix. I have no idea what the last one will come up with - they don't have it in their catalogue anymore and they won't be going on the roof! Overall I'm pleased with their selection.

I used to occasionally buy their special offer packs,I liked the lucky dip ones where you were not told what was in the mix. Just the types of plants.

Cymbidium from Morrisons (saw a hint in orchids group). They had cambrias too.

@Alisa - I succumbed to a cymbidium in Morrisons too! It came in a pointless outer metal planter which I accidentally left behind at the till. Honest!

gifted myself two small plants from jurassic plants,
Myrceugenia Parvifolia which is a relative of ugni / chilean guava. Maybe edible fruits, maybe dry capsules like some other relatives. We will see!
Common bladdernut, which is a european shrub with interesting bladder fruits and little nuts, i saw that the flowers are popular to pickle where it grows as a spring snack. Never seen this in england despite it being native just over the channel.

They included as a gift a teeny tiny Poncirus lemon/orange. Itll be quite a while before that becomes anything, maybe I can plant it somewhere next year.
