Tillandsia cyanea medio picta, I have had this variegated Tillandsia (bought at Rosemoor Gardens) for three years and has just flowered. These are the only two flowers to open, all the other flowers just shrivelled up in the spike and the colour has already started to go. There are several offsets so I might grow them on but I am disappointed with the flower.

Bung it outyside in a shady spot all summer then bring it in in October, keep it fairly cool.
Mine start to bud up in the new year, apart from a yellow one which comes a bit later.

Being S African, I believe, it should fit in with your climate quite well, given shade.

I've never had a clivia flower again in the same year, mine always flower around now and then I put them in a shady spot in the garden for the summer after the last frost.

A repot if really badly potbound, at that time is good, otherwise just a few high potash feeds through the summer is good, also dont overwater but keep them moist.
