    Hi all

I am looking for shrub ideas for a shrub that grows to about two feet tall and has prickles (its to go round a fountain to stop anyone going near the fountain) The garden is in full sun most of the day. I would like something that flowers but if possible something that does not have berries.

    Any ideas welcome

    Thank you
    Dave

One of the smaller Berberis'; most tend to have berries though but what is wrong with berries?

    Hi redwing

The reason i dont really want berries is because its to stop children (young) getting into the fountain and if you have berries theres a chance the children may eat the berries which will probably be poisonous.

    Thanks
    Dave

Hi nook6, why are you keeping them out of the fountain? If it's because of the danger of depth of water then, with respect, I think you need a safety barrier rather than relying on thorns.

I have used this product on my water feature:

Welcome to the forum by the way !

    Hi and thanks John
I will look into that as well no harm in a double barrier of protection.
