I've had enough of dealing with Sir Kinksalot's moods and lack of co-operation, so he has been retired (or will be as soon as I put the new hose onto the hose trolley).

I've treated myself to a 100m RHS Everflow hose (cost an arm and a leg!), which I hope will serve me well for a number of years - I will post a review in the tools section once I have used it a few times.

However, I now have 20+ metres of hose, that still works (albeit with a propensity to kink), and I am wondering if I can re-use it somehow; If I were to puncture really tiny pin holes in it, and zig-zagged it across the ceiling of the greenhouse, would it work as a greenhouse irrigation thing?

Better to loop it round inside the greenhouse with water in it so it heats up during the day for watering your tomatoes at the end of the day, concentrates the flavour :)

Soaker hoses suspended from the greenhouse ceiling are brilliant. If you drill tiny holes in a normal hose pipe, can't see why it wouldn't work.

I will need to think carefully where I drill the holes though, I don't have beds in my greenhouse, only pots. I am actually now wondering about getting some of these fellows and pushing them through tiny holes in the hosepipe (maybe 18-inch intervals?), then running it around the pots in the greenhouse so I can water the bulk of them all in one go.

@fat controller - great idea! :dbgrtmb:

With those nozzles you can adjust the flow over individual plants, removing the trial and error of drilling countless holes in the hosepipe, then drilling some more.... or realising you've drilled too many in places, so have to shuffle your plants around every couple of days :snorky:

              Hmmm.
Still haven't resolved my irrigation issue yet.
              This could be an option
Any idea of what area coverage you are likely to get?

Not a clue - the hose is just over 45 m long at a guess, so I reckon I will get round a fair bit?

              Ah yes :yikes:

Should have been a bit more specific.
How far from the hose do you expect the spray to reach?

No more than a couple of inches, based on those wee sprinkler heads I linked to.
