I've noticed it too Eric. I was blaming my own ISP which is getting worse after being taken over by the dreadful Tiscali but it could just be more members putting a strain on the server or the fact that all ISPs are getting worse in their provision of service. Rip off Britain strikes again?

I've also noticed it since I got back from holiday. It's not my ISP because nothing else has slowed down except GC. As I'm not all that knowledgable about the internet I thought that it might have something to do with the 'River Cottage' link below. I seem to remember when we used to have the gardening website counter at the bottom of the screen the postings slowed down and when that went they speeded up again.

I'm probably totally wrong about all that [IMG] but I hope someone can sort the problem out. I'm finding it rather tedious trying to post on here. Maybe Nathan can sort it out [IMG] [IMG]

I don't think it is to do with how many people are on GC because it is the same even when there have only been two of us on here.

I've noticed it too, and sometimes there are really only a couple of us on board at the time.

Since it is just here on GC, perhaps shiney's theory is correct about the chicken link at the bottom. Thank goodness the cackling has gone - that was worse than awful !

 Hi all, no I agree, it has been very slow these last few days.. People have double posts too because they didn't think it was working!!!!

Don't think it can be the chicken thing as that has been there for weeks now! ;)

It's been dreadfully slow from here ... forever for a page to turn ... but a bit better tonight although I wouldn't say flying along! I'm changing the batteries on my mouse every few days and I'm hardly using it.

Now photobucket is doing site maintenance and I've got my pictures from today loaded in there but now can't get them out ... maybe later. [IMG]

I have just got a new computer with a firewall, and although I have noticed the slowness I wasn't sure if it was my computer. However I have also, just today, been losing some pictures and avatars. But its not always the same ones - could this be part of the same problem? I think the picture loading is timing-out sometimes.

    Evening, PeterS.

Photobucket is doing maintenance and their link is going up and down so, if you use them, this is the problem.

Whilst speaking, the Salvias are coming along a treat considering mine have to survive without constant temps and the one from the hills (S guarantina?) is shooting all over the place, so ... [IMG]

I think things are better tonight, but anyway the webmaster has it all in hand should the problem continue.
