Small Wildlife Pool Plants

    Hi guys,

    I have just set up a small pool in my garden, its 3fx2f so not big and 29cm deep at its deepest point. Im looking for plants that will grow low and not very big, pants that attract wildlife both around the pool and in it. Also need ones oxygenating plant.

    Any ideas guys ?

    Oxygenating plant - Hornwort. When there's too much of it just pull it out.
    Water forgetmenot - Myosotis scorpioides as a shallow edge plant. Pretty, self seeds but easy to manage.
    Flowering rush - Butomus umbellatus. Nice vertical plant for dragonflies etc to use for emerging (not actually a rush lol).

      Oh and for a miniature water lily like plant suitable for a small pond, Nymphoides peltata (water fringe/floating heart) Its leaves will provide shade for pond creatures and the yellow flowers will look good with the forgetmenot :)
