Is it a good idea to smoke bomb a greenhouse each spring before I use it? The difference this year is that I have a grape vine growing in the corner - would I be better sticking to Jayes Fluid or similar?

I would stick to Jeyes too, most fumigating smokes are for either pests or diseaes so you would need both, I am not sure what is available in retail now. I have used Nicotine shreds, Pemethrin and Lindane amongst many others but I stopped using them 12 years ago due to Health and Saftey regs. [IMG]

Also, they tend to be harmful to any plants in the greenhouse.

I used to be able to buy smoke bombs for about 20p. Now it seems you can only get sulphur candles - for over £5 !! I tried one, lit the blue paper, left it for 24 hours. Walked in the following day to see a woodlice crossing the floor very happily!

I stick to Jeyes fluid and power washing best of all.

And certainly before any plants go in.
