Does anyone else do this? I thought I'd give it a go...

9 days ago I'd sown some Ammi Majus, the pot on the left was in JI seed sowing compost and on the right just sieved leaf mould .Works well IMO:thumbsup:

The fungi in leafmould will have the same benefit as "Rootgrow" type additives with Mycorrhizal fungi, which should help the developing seedlings, but just used "plain" I think it holds too much water.

I wouldn't have thought so @pete unless it's bracken and pine needles that have rotted down, but I really haven't a clue to the science of it all:doh:It worked so that's good enough for me:thumbsup: I've got a ton of the stuff and it's so gorgeous I could eat it myself:rolleyespink:

I just know that if I find copper coins in woodland, they're all eaten away.
