I have grown a few things in pots, and now they are all dieing off i am wondering what to do with spent compost.

What can i do with spent compost?

I have seen some just put it in a compost bin and then and fish blood and bone and some fertalizer to it then mix it up, then repeat.

    Would this method work?

I do it all the time David. I mix half own compost sifted with half Coir, plus Perlite and use this for seeds, for potting on I add some feed.

I have a lot of pots at the moment, and don't have any borders and two raised beds which are covered atm.

I would put in layers in the compost bin then leave a week or two fill with your household veg cutting etc then add another layer of compost ...

I tend to not reuse compost, I just put it on the veg patch and dig it in come spring.

I get people put it on there gardens, i don't have anywhere to put the excess. I have already covered two raised beds, but got so much growing in pots that there is excess.

If it doesn't all fit in your compost bins, bearing in mind it needs to be mixed with other garden compost, can you offer the excess to neighbours? :)

No, a lot of my neighbours are pot people due to how crap our soil is. i have lived here for 18 months and only seen one neighbour cut there grass or bring plants in.

Blow the neighbours! Get yourself a couple of strong garden bags and tip it into those, until such time as you need it. It's much too precious as a soil-conditioner to throw it away.
Personally, I wouldn't re-use it for sowing seeds. If it contains pests or fungal disease spores, it could be a big disappointment.

LOL, I don't plan on using it for sow seeds, but potting on or for established plants etc
