@Verdun , question is from the Dahlia thread . Thought it better to start a new post.
My sanquisorba is just starting to show . Is it possible to split it now , or should I wait until Autumn as it goes dormant ?
    TIA

    Hello Harry
    Which variety? How big?
I have divided Red Thunder, Pink Elephant, Pink Tanna and others last autumn. Both in the ground and in 3 or 5 litre pots and growing like mad.
I think now is an ideal time cos they will recover quickly with plenty of time to summer flowering :)

Hi Verdun , not a clue on the type. Bought it last July after seeing one in a planter and taking photo below . So I presume its a pink something :)

Hakusanensis type Harry....hope spelling is correct. Looks like Lilac Squirrel. Gorgeous plant ...foliage as well as flowers....from mid summer to autumn :)
If mine and it was bought only last year I would keep this one intact and divide it in September. Reason is it has a more chunky root system than other sanguisorbas so best left a tad longer :)
