The farmer has accidently sprayed my plants with a weed killer. It was a genuine mistake . The hot weather has dried up my fencing enough to allow the spray to get through the gaps.
I'm not bothered about the flowers but the border is full of snowdrops which I am annoyed about.
The farmer says it will not affect the snowdrops or any other bulbs as the weedkiller only attacks whatever foliage is above the ground.

    Is this true please ?

It depends on what weedkiller was used. What was he spraying?

Some Weedkillers can weaken bulbs not just the top of plants try to find out. what weedkiller was used
also you canCut any abnormal shoots or those that are brown, hard back. It can be some time before the affected plants start to produce normal shoots you can also feed and mulch damaged plants to aid there recovery

@Purple Streaks Had the top growth on your bulbs died down before the weedkiller was sprayed.
If so the weedkiller is unlikely to affect the snowdrops or other bulbs.
Snowdrops are dormant from when the foliage dies off until late summer/early autumn when root growth starts. When dormant the snowdrop bulb will not take up the weedkiller.
Glyphosate is the most likely candidate for the farmer to have used and this is inactivated by soil contact.

Thank you to each of you
The weed killer he was using was to spray and kill off the weeds that grow amongst sugarbeet . Nothing of my bulbs was above the ground
The earlier super hot weather fizzled off he remaining growth of my bulbs so I guess they will be ok.

The stuff they use for weeds amongst sugarbeet won't harm your snowdrop bulbs.

Interested to know what they use to kill weeds in sugar beet that doesn't kill the crop as well.

I looked it up, but it's not something that would be much use to me.
