I have just cut down a shrubby 3 ft high Yucca Filamentosa at the end of the drive. It had very very spikey leaves like gladiators swords which were forever giving me a jab. Now there are about 5 stems left about 4 - 5 inch diameter. Would the application of SBK Stump Killer prevent regrowth , and kill roots so making removal easier in mid summer ?
Does it work ? Is it safe for children and pets ?

    TIA

Hmm, not too sure about yucca Harry....I think stump killer is not very effective on this one.

On most shrubs it does work, e.g. on eleagnus, viburnum and sycamore it surely does.

With yuccas though they sucker and do so from everywhere. To permanently remove yuccas...I have done 2....I had to physically dig them out. I had to dig gigantic holes deep and wide to remove all traces of root; really hard work :sad:A stump killer won’t do that in my opinion.

    Wrong answer Verdun
I know it can be bloomin' hard work .
I was hoping it would kill or weaken the roots to make removal easier in about 4 months ?
