    Hello,

I am after some advice, I have two sunflowers that are over 8 inches and 2 are 3 inches, the 3 inches are fine, however the other 2 leaves all drop in the day and then come up at night time. I thought it could be heat related but I have put them in shade and indoors during the day and it is still happening. They are watered every day just because it is so hot.

    any advice be great, thanks

They get small amounts every day if its hot, if not hot then its every other day. Don't think i have other watered them the smaller ones are fine, the only difference they were planted about 10 days later.

Could it simply be heat as in the greenhouse the temp has been in the 80s according to thermo. I will see what they are like tomorrow and take them out and move to the shady area of garden

Well, I'm not sure where you are but its been pretty warm around here for the last two weeks or more, and sunflowers should be outside full time now IMO.
They are considered hardy annuals, although probably not totally hardy, they are tough plants.

@David Cook - I'm in the same part of the world and the sunflowers from last year seeded and they are coming up happily all over my garden - so they are tough enough!
