Lovely idea for a thread Nutty! Great pics too.

Careful with your eyes, taking those zoom pics directly into the sun though chuck!

There isn't anything else quite like a sunrise or sunset - especially if there is no-one else around.

This is a really good thread to set up the challenge for as many different variations of place to photo the sun in his ascent or decline.

    Nice one Nut!

Will be especially interesting to see what folks can come up with for the summer solstice sunrise - weather permitting!

    Lovely walnut and woo.

I'm afraid I'm not up for the sunrises ... something to do with a Lady of Leisure me'thinks! but I do enjoy my sunsets.

I'll be following this thread and perhaps adding one or two. :)

    Thanks for sharing yours. xx

That's a wonderful photo, Woo! I almost expected to see Captain Hook's ship against the sun, in lieu of the moon and the absence of Big Ben. Well done!

Woo and Nut - some lovely colours in your skies!

Woo - how wonderful to see the orb so large and low.

Glen - a fab pic - sunset in a resort is the nicest time - after all the tourists have gone and the beach becomes populated again with a few locals and birds hopping round eating any leftover crumbs!

    Lovely.
