A blue moon (a second full moon in a calendar month), a super moon (when the moon is unusually close to Earth, making it bigger and brighter) and a blood moon (a moment during an eclipse when the moon appears red) will all coincide for the first time since 1866.
This is due tonight , although the blood moon will not be visible in western Europe. Anyway when anything like this happens , blanket cloud is virtually guaranteed :snorky:

Thanks for this @HarryS I managed to get some photos of the moon last evening as it was rising and tonight,so our weather man on the local radio station was saying the moon up our way will start to rise at 5pm up here in the Midlands and then at 6.30pm the ISS (International Space Station should be passing over head at 6.30pm but as I said that is up our way and obviously the timining will be different depending where you live in the British Isles.

There was no sign of the moon this morning when I got up something after five as I suspect it was too cloudy but got some good shots the previous morning.

As I am sitting here typing this we have sleet falling outside so I expect it will be too cloudy and to cold to stand outside this evening.:cry3:

I missed it, typical! :doh:I hadn't realised the sky had cleared just before the moon rose and didn't bother setting my camera up. :wallbanging:

I didn`t miss it - but it didn`t look any different than it usually does to me. I tried to get a picture, but being a dumbo with the camera it came out black with a white ''freckle''
