I have a lonesome hen in the copse (she doesn't like other hens so she can't be housed with the flock) who spends her days with the ducks. She went off lay back in October and that's fine, she's a cuckoo maran so we don't expect 52 weeks of laying.

This morning, Mr Mum went to clean out the ducks and chooks and to our great surprise .... Cocoa has come back into lay! :dancy: She's laid 5 (and we didn't even realise! :heehee: ).

Spring is on the way ... :dbgrtmb:

:heehee: I'm quite sure she did!

However, she isn't one of those chickens that annouces to the world that she's laid an egg (she's very discreet ;) ) and, even better, she didn't use them as an eggcuse to go broody :phew:
