    Hi Aqua,

I'm trying sweetcorn for the first time this year, so I'm interested in the replies to this. From what I"ve read in the trusty old Hessayon book, you can only expect 2-3 cobs of corn per plant, so I would guess that although you probably could grow a single plant in a large, deep tub, it would be a bit of a low yield for the effort.

Having said that, mine isn't looking too special at the minute, so you could just as easily end up with more than I will ;)

I've not grown sweetcorn for years, but I know there are a lot of newer varietys out there now.
I bet there must be one thats good in containers although you would need to feed and water well and not expect a large crop.
I think 2-3 cobs is about right Will, they do like warm conditions, something we aint had much of this spring, especially at night.
