Tall Curry plant help needed [Solved]

Why won't it live? It's get water when it needs it and lives in the coldhouse outside???

 

Its compost looks bone dry to me. Are you sure the water isn't just running straight through when you water it? Sometimes if the compost gets very dry, it just wont absorb any water unless you stand it in a tray of water for ages until it eventually soaks it up.

 

It was dry...then I watered it! I also leave it to sit in a tray of water but it still refuses!

 

As it's a silvery Mediterranean type of thing it would hate sitting in a puddle for any length of time - that could kill it. If it hasn't had that, check the root ball to see if there's any creamy white grubs there. That's often the cause of mystery deaths.

 

The garden is east facing so gets a fair bit in the morning.

 

I used to have one out with the lavender in the full sun - seemed to like that OK, possibly its not sunny / warm enough for it ?

 

I think it was the water thing that was killing it. I've been watering it little and often and it's coming back to life again. Another question: Can I eat it? Isn't there another another curry plant isn't edible?

 

I read the same once, but I've not been able to find any such reports now.
