We've been doing a lot of reorganising and clearing stuff out this past couple of weeks (first real chance since moving house last year), and I've just come across some packs of bulbs/corms I forgot I had - tucked away in a nice, dry, dark box and they all seem to be OK.

    I found:

    2 packs of 12 Snowdrops
1 pack of 4 Red Hot Poker
1 pack of 35 Gladioli Black Jack
1 pack of 35 Allium Mixed

Admittedly, they are all pound shop cheapies, but hopefully they will come to something? I'll get the Snowdrops and the Allium planted over the next few weeks, and then store the rest back in the same box in the shed (hope I don't forget them for another year!)

    Feels like free plants! :)

I love that feeling! Well done to you for finding them :ccheers:

I've bought a lot of my plants/seeds from the £ or even 99p shop and some have done really well. I still have some bulbs I simply didn't get a chance to plant this year, but I'll try again next year.

I think I'll pop the alliums in where I have my dahlias at the moment, but I am not sure what to do with the snowdrops - I could poke holes in the grass and sow them in there I suppose (seems to be a common thing to do with them), or I could whack them into the planters that I have in the driveway that currently have violas and cineraria in them?

There's no reason why the corms and bulbs shouldn't be okay, FC. I would give the Snowdrops a soak in tepid water for a day before planting them. What an nice find!!:hapydancsmil:

              Thanks Nick :)

I've had another ratch about in the shed today in the hope I might find some more hidden gems, but alas there are none.
