    Hi Freddy, I've had this particular Leycesteria, grown from a cutting, for 20 or so years and had no sign of Mildew.:dunno:

    It was the exotic looking Bracts that caught my eye and it's one of my many favourite plants.

      Yes, looks like the sort of plant I’d like to have here, if I can find a good spot for it. Thing is, I’ve had mildew on Honeysuckle in the past (not here) that suffered with it, and have suffered with mildew here, on a few plants (Lupins and lately sweet peas). I’m sorely tempted :)

        Well, it's your garden and your decision, Freddy.:love30::thumbsup: One of it's other names is Pheasant Berry and Game Keepers used it to grow as cover for their birds. It's hardy, easy to grow, doesn't need pruning, and is very pretty when in flower............but don't let that influence you in whether to get one or not:nonofinger::dunno::whistle::heehee:
