The old girl has had an easy season and in anticipation that it was the last cut this year she has been oiled and preened ready for a long[IMG] cold winter in the garage.

Looks in brilliant nick. Is that a touch of Hammerite I spy?

I reckon that our lawns will require about another two, possibly three cuts, before the mowers get cleaned up for their winter lay over.

I've never though about the words 'clean' and 'mower' in the same sentence before!

I've had my mower about 20 years - never cleaned it! They do give it a clean when they service it

I don't wash the car, either. Although when I was selling my last car I had to take a photo of it so that the paper could put it on their website (put an ad in the paper and the web ad is free). So I washed the side that I was taking the photo of! :heehee:

Very nice mower Capney - I have to admit that these days I generally use my Hayter petrol mower, but in my shed I have a Qualcast Panther from 1935 - I bought a few years ago from the original owners daughter, so I'm only the third owner in nearly 80 years - it even came with the original brochure:

No. I do. But I only just started doing it this year. I have a mentor a few doors away that guides me in the ways of gardening kit, he hates to see anything not in its right place and all prim and proper.

Hayter gear is brill. The lads at the waterworks used to use them, last for ever.
Panther oil bath and self sharpening... Amazing.
