Just thought this might be of interest to rose lovers on GC.
Since the demise of the RNRS last year, perhaps some folk might feel left out in the cold. [email protected]

Yes, I think we Gardeners, and Rose lovers, owe a debt to him that can't be repaid but he will be remembered by the roses that he bred, and that Gardeners have in their gardens, much longer than any so called VIP, Celebrity, or Politician, leaving behind a lasting heritage.:love30::coffee:

Oh that's sad. But then... he had a very long life and has left one heck of a legacy.

So that's it. Saturday I rec'd a letter from the company dealing with the liquidation of the RNRS. Royal National Rose Socy. Attached was a cheque for £13 + as my subs.

Such a sad loss to the gardening fraternity, losing the socierty. I don't know, just my thoughts and feelings. As a rosearian. To see roses on display at world famous shows is great but, to be able to spend a day walking around a rose garden. Seeing, touching and taking in the fragrance of roses en mass growing and in their way enjoying life. Now. ZAP!

It's sad. Although we don't grow roses in our garden I used to enjoy visiting the Society's garden.
