How about a time limit for items that are wanted / for sale etc.

e.g. I want top sell 10 large terracotta pots, so I list them on GC in the for sale section, I hear nothing for a while so put them up for auction and they are sold after being re listed (so up for sale for 20 days at most)
Then some one sees and really wants them who is looking at GC they contact me, only to be told they have gone (some time ago)

But, if they were "on show" at GC for say a month, then automatically removed (I do mean automatically, not removed by a mod / admin) then there would be no disappointment, and if not sold the seller could re list them again.

This would also be useful if a seller leaves GC, (for what ever reason) that way their item will be removed, and the enquirer will not be asking where is xyz, as xyz's items will have expired before xyz left the forum.

      Hi Watergarden,

Just been looking thru the Xenforo addons, can't see one for expiring threads. Not to say there isn't one though, i'll ask the others.

In the meantime, if members could put sold on the end of their threads when it has gone or contact any of the staff & we'll soft delete the thread, meaning if someone needs to re advertise due to non collection or something, we could put the thread back at the flick of a switch:dbgrtmb:

Another thing people do on other forums when an item sells is to 'Edit' the first post of the topic also and add 'SOLD' as the first word of the thread.

I will also look into it.

What about letting members soft delete their own threads there?

        Or lock
