I purchased this tiny rose today, can anyone tell me anything about them, are they grown on their own roots? Is there anywhere online I could purchase these?

They are very cute, aren't they? Whenever I've had one, it seems to consist of 4 cuttings planted closely. They never come to anything if planted out after flowering, not sure if it reverts to a weedy, normal sized rose?

I have loads of them, usually bought from Aldi or the like. Some last years here, others not so long but all of mine live outdoors ... well, they are roses aren't they? I have one I bought as a patio rose called Sunseeker, 18" tall, from B&Q about 10+ years ago and kept it in a concrete pedestal pot on the IoW and then here for years and it stayed tiny. I then planted it out and it is now 2 meters plus tall but still retains it's tiny leaves and small flowers. It's in it's second flush this year so will take a pic and post in a week or two.

This is from four years ago but you can see how tall it is then where I am taking the picture 'up' toward the sky.

They sell them in Morrisons every now and then for a few quid a pop.

I split one out last year and of the four plants, two are okay and one died because my dog peed on it. Will let you know if I get any blooms this year. I do have a few others which I haven't split out yet, two of which have been in their original plastic pots outside over winter. Those are looking nice and healthy and one of them has flower buds on.

I have bought lots of these over time, some survive ,some don`t, I have come to regard them as annuals, at 2 pounds they are an average price for a summers flowering, I also no longer divide them. :coffee:

So the secret to keeping them small is to plant them in small pots. Can't believe that one has gone to 2 meters high!!!!:ouch1:

I think it`s probably more to do with pruning :dunno:

Val, I think it reverted to the original stock and it is definitely a climber. Just found this photo taken 24 May 2012 ...

Pamsdish, you really don't need to 'prune' the minis, just snip off the dead edges.
