      The top photo reminds me of the young leaves of one of the crane's bill wild flowers and the lower one reminds me of some of the mint family when they are young but I could be completely wrong.

        The first one could be a young Geranium palmatum or maderense if you remember ever having seed of those? +1 for the mint or mint family. Are the leaves aromatic?

          Thank you Macraignil and Noisette for good suggestions.

          I did plant Geranium seeds a few months back but nowhere near this pot, also Mosquito Busting Geraniums but the leaves do not have a scent. We both thought mint for No 2 but again there is no scent.

          I planted Aptenia seeds in there but they are fleshy and none have come up.

          If the Geranium leaves are unscented, they're not Herb Robert :) Probably worth transplanting/keeping!

            First one looks vaguely like aquilegia to me.
            Second one is a bit too blurred to guess at really.:smile:

            Never had Aquilegia here. Guess we'll leave and see if it flowers ... so frustrating!

            I can't take photos one-handed (well, no better in both hands) ... how do folk do selfies?

            I'll try again ...

                  I have a program on my phone which can identify plants called Plant Net. I put your image in and it came up with possibly Apple Mint followed by Spearmint. Seems fairly accurate as I've tested it out on plants I know. Here is a clearer picture of Apple Mint - the top suggestion.

                    Don't think so but how strange it comes from Myanmar (previously Burma) which is where my father was born.

                    Interesting. We did plant some Spearmint seeds in the Summer but not in this pot and nothing came up. The thing is, it is not scented.

                    A thought in the night ...

                    Could the second one be a Verbena that has morphed with smooth leaves? I had it in that pot for years then removed and put Avocado tree in only replacing the top half of the soil.

                    Did you come up with anything on the first photo in your app?

                    @noisette47

                    Going back through my records, I did buy Geranium macrorrhizum Czakori seeds in September 2017 ... maybe, just maybe ....
