Tomatoes at present about 24" high with about three trusses on each plant in 15" pots,(10ltr paint buckets)

Next weekend I intend moving them from a polythene blow away shelter to a real Greenhouse with soil base
Should I just move them as is
    Or
Would it be OK/Best to knock them out of the pots and plant in the ground with stakes?

I'd plant them in some soil Jack. I've got one in a 10 L paint tub and it is doing very badly compared to the ones I put into my soil border (in early March) I kept this one in a 10 L paint tub as an experiment to try and get some really early tomatoes, I pinched out the growing tip so it only has one truss but getting the watering right has been a problem, it dries out in the space of one day which is no good for me as I'm at work till late most weekdays and don't get chance to check it regularly enough.

Your only problem is getting it out of the tub, it might be a bit tricky knocking it out without damaging the plant too much.

what about cutting the bottom off the pot and sinking it into soil?

That would work just fine. Last year I'd a 'spare' that was in a 10" pot and I sank the pot to about 2/3 of it's height in the bed in the polytunnel and the plant did very well. It put out roots through the holes in the bottom of the pot.
