I realised today why I actually stopped watching the TV.

I though I'd watch the boat race, 20min or so followed by a bit of chat that I could switch off.
OH, NO, a two hour programme going over and over every last minute of preparation, life history, almost, of every crew member. Some stupid award winning "comedian" joining in the rowing, the bloke from "Smith and Jones" described as an expert on rivers, and a wine "expert"??? of all things having his say.

And to top it all a tour of London's sewers, all before the race even started.
By that time I was bored with the whole thing.

Why is it that in all quiz shows now we get a rundown of the rules about four times over during the game, and a big long recap of what has already taken place, after the commercial break.

This has become normal these days in all TV, which in my eyes makes the whole thing a big switch off

Does this kind of repetition/ padding bother anyone else:mad:

yep it bugs the life out of me, on the rare occasion that i want to watch something i get my hubby to find it on the net and just watch the bit i want lol, i usually find that for a two hour programme i usually only watch 30 or so mins

Drives me to distraction ... which is exactly what I need from these things ... T'other half records programmes/series for me and removes the commercials so we can have a more relaxed viewing in our own time. :yess:

Its going to get even worse. It was on the news recently that the advertising rules were changing, to allow 12 minutes of ads per hour.

    Thats not good news clueless.

Have you also noticed how the BBC, being Ad free tend to spend about 10 minutes in every hour promoting forthcoming programmes.

I've noticed that even if they are running late they dont give them a miss, but still show the boring bits of still to come programmes.
Even more annoying when they cut off the weather forecast, because it run slightly over its time, in order to show ads for other programmes.

Ohhhhhh! I'm so glad my television went out the door New Years eve!

Having said that, who won the boat race please.
