We have these UFOs flying around our garden. We did ask a Portuguese person what they are but he said he didn't know but that they are harmless.

They have a body shaped like a ladybird, irridescent wings and buzz. You can judge the size of it as the Lantana flowerhead is 4cm across! Any guesses?

A ladybird landed on the table as we were eating last night as well so the air was filled with flying critters. There is such a variety of butterflies here so will try to capture some of them on film.

Yes, we do, Strongy. In fact, they are all about at the moment. One cicada in the Jacaranda was driving us made earlier! I love the sound of them all singing together, soothing night music! [IMG]

Last time I heard them was two years ago in Washington DC, some hate the sound, I love it. [IMG]

I like the sound as well, a couple of years ago we did have one around here for a week or so, I'm not sure but I think they sell them as food for reptiles in the pet shops.
    Maybe one escaped.
