Hi folks, whils`t visiting a garden centre, I picked up a book called "The Vegetable And Herb Expert" by Dr.D.G. Hessayon. I must say that it`s very well laid out and easy to follow(a must for a numpty like me!). I`d highly recommend it, especially for those that are just starting up their own veggies. Here`s a link http://www.rbooks.co.uk/product.aspx?id=0903505460 . cheers...freddy.

He has a whole series of 'experts' for different gardening areas. I started out with the general 'The Garden Expert' which was brilliant for somebody who'd never owned a garden before.

Hi NurseWhen, yeah, I had a few of his books around 20 years ago before I stopped growing veggies. It looks like I`m gonna be moving to a house with a large garden shortly so I`ll be able to get things going again on the veggy front, hence the book. Just thought I`d spread the word ;) Cheers...freddy.
