I transplanted my viburnum 5-6 weeks ago to a different spot in the garden but it’s since been looking very sad and floppy - this despite regular watering and lots of compost spread around the roots. Is there anything else I should be doing to help revive it. Picture attached. I’m hoping this isn’t a slow death!

    Hi

all depends how much root ball you dug out ..

April not a good month to dig up shrubs and move them as they have re started back into growth .. we have had some hot days have you kept it well watered ?

I would give it a mini trim all over reduce the leaf burden on its roots and keep well watered and that means every week during the summer

they are tough plants should regrow

I tried to take as much of the root ball as I could. I’ve been watering it pretty much every 2 days, so giving it lots of love and attention. I’ll give it a trim - just take a few inches all around?

If you are happy to trim it I would remove a third of the top growth. This takes the pressure off the roots but keeps enough leaf to feed new root growth.
