I have violas planted in solid plastic wall planters, will they be OK over the Winter? I don't want to take them off the fence as they are screwed into position but am wondering if they will survive.

In my opinion, they should be, especially if the fence will also offer some protection. I find that they can look very sorry for themselves, if there is a hard frost, but they bounce back amazingly quickly afterwards, and are in flower again before you know it.

I grow them in pots, normally, rather than in wall pots, but I think the same principle spplies. The only thing I do is not to water them too much if a hard frost is forecast...

I have always been lucky, they seem to put up with the most adverse of conditions and come through with that cheeky grin, they just need a drop of water when it's not freezing.
