Hi all, I have visitors in my garden shed and after reading about them they are welcome. Wasps have had a bad press of ages but they eat lot of bad creepies like caterpillars, green fly and so on. They don't mind my visits to the shed, usually trying to find something or other, sometimes forgotten what I went in there for, and we get on fine. Amazing builders and organised so it would seem. I had some in my porch a couple of years ago and coming into the house so that was a different story.

I haven't seen that many wasps around this year, usually we get one or two nests in our loft in the spring, been clear this year so far.

Had some stuff a few years ago when they were in the attic sprayed it up under the nest and killed the lot. I was up the garden today and the wasps are patrolling my swedes (first time growing these) the Cabbage White likes swedes the wasps like caterpillars..so we may have a future arrangement. hmm will they leave my Victorias we will see.

No stick yet clueless can't run as fast as I used to. :)

            Good for you :blue thumb:

I had one in my flat roof a couple of years ago and I was always finding them on windowsills. Just picked them up and put them outside and not once did they try and sting me (well apart from the one which got caught in my dressing gown but that was my own fault and it was stressed).

Live and let live I say.

I've got a wasp nest in the garden... They have taken over my neighbours bird box. At first I was really wary and worried... But they seem to potter around my runner beans and garden, avoiding me, as I avoid them. The only time they seem to want to meet me is when I have an ice cream ha ha

You can actually start a sentence with 'and' Clueless but it depends on how it's used. :)

I spotted it straight away terrible mistake no apostrophe ho ho.
I have had them in bird boxes and left them alone. I think if you watch them you will learn a lot from them. There is a time when they become (god I can't spell this word where is Markymark) lethargic. They are liable to sting you at this stage behaving drunkenly almost.

Wasps are OK unless they're indoors. :blue thumb: They can become quite agressive if they can't find a way out when they want to go out.

Last year we had them making a nest in the roofspace of our summerhouse. They came down into the summerhouse in their hundreds and started getting quite agitated when they couldn't get out through the windows or glass doors. Unfortunately, we had to get rid of them.
