Weed or perrenial please?

    Wonder if you could help,hopefully you can tell me through the photo if this staggering plant is a weed or perrenial,being a casual gardener ive put a few perrinials in a small patch of soil over the last few years,some have come back some not but this thing stands waaaay taller than the rest at about 7 feet,it has pretty purple flowers but its just huge,ive had a lot of weeds this year and cant even remember planting this one,it has super thick stems and too,if it is a weed its a pretty one,ive now cut it back as the wind bent it right over nearly 90 degrees,any help please??thank yoooo IMG_20160810_095611977.jpg

    Not a good photo to work from but my best guess is Erysimum.

      Looks more like phlox to me.

        It looks like Erysimum Bowles Mauve when it's at the stage of the flowers finishing.
