This could be a very obvious question but please bear with a gardening newbie like myself. We had our lawn returfed last year and all was fine except this Summer these have been popping up all over the garden. Can anyone identify / recommend how to deal with?

    Thanks

Dandelions. They have a taproot but a tool like this will get them out without digging holes in your new lawn.

Or spot weed them with a Lawn weedkiller. Make sure it is a lawn one, someone on another site has used the wrong stuff and killed off their grass. Verdone is the one I use, but there are other makes too.

Just to add, if you dig them out you must be sure to get every bit of the root or they will just keep coming back.
