Sounds good. And if anyone comes close to where I live let me know, I can try to do a met up.

So when do we get my "Green with Envy" sub forum? With the main forum being "Wish You Were Here", we could call it: "P'd off I'm not!" ;)

How about having each thread based on a particular country, area or location? Then we could just keep adding to it, building a pool of information on that location. (Already seems to be working that way anyway, looking at Kyle's Munich thread).

Also, we could possibly start threads based around particular activities or themes.

Do we need to decide exactly what we're aiming at with this forum or are we just going to put anything we like that is to do with travel?

It seems to me that if we just put our holiday snaps up we shall just have a holiday photo forum. That's not a problem but doesn't appear to be the only purpose.

So, maybe, there should be something saying that the forum is there for your:-

                a) holiday photos (self-explanatory)
                b) questions about holidays (about other members' holidays or about your own ideas for holidays)
                c) questions about travel (different ways to get to the destination, possible cheaper ways to book travel etc)
                d) questions on themes for holidays (e.g. I'm thinking of touring ancient sites, any ideas please?)
                e) questions about what to avoid or what to definitely see at a particular destination

There are likely to be many other ideas.

Am I making it too complicated? :heehee:

Funny part is, where we all are living now can be a holiday for others.

I'm near Chesterfield, South Yorkshire / North Derbyshire (Well on the borders, with long-standing, ongoing discussions where we are exactly lol). And, in the hope of trying to find other amateur "reasonably local" gardeners like myself, scoured the internet and various blogs. I've been a member of this site for a few years but haven't found an easy way to locate others where we could meet up, seed swap, etc. I have found, and joined another called Greenplantswap, which is designed specifically for locating in the UK, as opposed to information and discussions like this one. I'm not trying to "promote" the other, and even asked the Mods on this one if a similar function could be built on this site, but it was decided it wasn't appropriate.

My wife and I have met up with and made a really good gardening friend as result of the other site but, unfortunately, in spite of it being a very comprehensive and large site, it is far less active than this one - could be that my area (up to as far as 20+ miles) simply does not "produce" many sociable, enthusiastic souls like myself and wife! So if anyone like-minded, and in a nearby location, stumbles across this rambling of mine who wants to correspond, then Here I Be!!
