what are these pests please?

    what are these pests please?

    there on the bottom of most of the leaf of my hollyhocks.

    there covered in them can they be got rid of or is it best to cut them down?

    (UPDATE)

    Having had a look around it looks like it might be Hollyhock rust and there covered in it so think I will cut them down as I do have other plants I can plant there

    Yes lowrider, it is hollyhock rust.:sad: It’s why I stopped growing them:sad:
    In my experience this occurs mainly on perennial hollyhocks or those in their second year plus.
    Yes, dig them up and burn them:)

    yea its there 2nd year...

    Got lots of other plants that need a home and be nice for a change :)

    I cannot grow Hollyhocks because of rust.. It is a shame as I do like them.. As Verdun says dig up and burn or dispose of in green bin..

    yea I,ve dug the 1st lot up they come out so nice last year holyhocks.jpg
