I like the Nuttery feeders. The ones with the cage around the outside. They are well-made, lasting for many years, and the nut feeders are not damaged by the activities of the jays and woodpeckers. (These birds can still feed from them, but not with full force, more scavenging up the scraps)

I use any good quality feeders, Woo, with the metal cages around them. I also use long ones and short ones. The long Feeder is on a pole and has a short feeder beside it and the long feeder seems to get used more than the short feeder for some reason. A short feeder on the Lilac gets heavily used, which reminds me to check on it now, needing refilling every day, while the other short feeder under the Acer by the Wildlife pond gets used less. I might reintroduce a short uncaged feeder as I don't mind the larger birds getting a free meal.:coffee:

My problem with that, Woo, is that such feeders are merely feeders bought from suppliers and rebranded as RSPB, etc, with additional prices changes.:dunno::wallbanging::coffee:

I’ve got two “cage” feeders. One has the cage as an integral part of the feeder (a nut feeder). I also bought just the cage, which fits around standard feeders, although you have to remove the perches, which I put around a seed feeder. Both work well, frustrating my delinquent jays!

I bought two different types of Starling proof feeders from the RSPB shop here. Neither were Starling proof :rolleyespink:. I haven't tried any of the other feeders they sell. Their prices seem somewhat expensive to me.

Simpsons Garden Centre have a big selection of bird feeders that are reasonably priced.

So, what happens when a squirrel lands on it?!

(Couldn’t do that to my squirrels, but then they are part of our garden family now....)

Wish I had squizzers but it's not squirrel habitat here. I do see them around the island though. Henllys is a good place as there are feeding stations set up so you can sit/stand and watch them.
