A very good evening to you all.

Along with gardening, my other passion is cooking and today I made this for us teas.

Basil and thyme roasted pork loin with caramelised apples, mushrooms, honey carrots, broccoli and a cider sauce, followed by lemon cheesecake little compot of grapes and plums with a LOT of cream. It ate very well. Our 1 year old had the same and ate it all up.

        I too love cooking @al n.
Saturday nights supper was lamb shank, roasted carrot purée and braised cabbage and fondant potatoes with a lamb jus (gravy :heehee:)
Followed by a chocolate fondant :hapydancsmil:
This Saturday is duck breast with spicy plum sauce and white chocolate pannacota.
My fav has got to be lamb.
I love also cooking thai food but the other half finds it a little hot:ouch1:

I had braised cabbage with pork liver ,caramelised onion gravy and new potatoes. as I cook for one it can be difficult to motivate myself to cook a "proper" meal, so today I braised the cabbage and have frozen the excess, so on lazy days I have somethings I can put together to make a decent meal in 10 or 15 mins.

Nothing better to relax and enjoy than gardening and cooking. I love both.

My fave out of all is smoked mackerel, love the stuff, but my fave meal would be gammon, egg and chippies!!

Lamb used to be my favourite for years, but these days we hardly eat any red meat. Chicken and fish seems to be on the menu at al n towers mostly.

There's not a lot I won't eat, but liver??!! Is one of them....... Love heart and kidneys though.

I'm crap at desserts other than apple crumble, cheesecake and fruit salad. I can't bake at all, I usually offer cheese and biccies instead!

I'm a red meat person myself but Ms Mowgley love fish.
Her fav dish is monk fish wrapped in Parma ham with red wine sauce
I too like mackerel with ginger, lime and chilli

Today, I bought a £2 packet of Morrisons Yorkshire Ham and cut it up roughly, reduced a small( 187ml) bottle of Californian Chardonnay down, sautéed a few chopped mushrooms in butter, added some soured cream. Cooked off some Penne Pasta and stirred it all together. Meanwhile, sliced a large Bulgarian tomato up ,drizzled with olive oil, rock salt and mixed peppercorns and slowly grilled it almost dry and decorated the top of our 2 bowls of pasta mix with it. Rather yummy - getting into Autumn Comfort food mode now,
                Jenny

Looks delicious Al !!! I used to love cooking and was a very good pastry cook even if I do say so myself!! So I used to love making all kinds of pies!! :)
I'm the same as pam now, just me to cook for so it is usually something wholesome but plain.
Tonight I roasted some chicken with new pots and peas, was very nice!!

Seen as though dinner around these parts means lunch I had a bag of crisps and three donuts. Oh and big can of Tizer to wash it down, delicious. ;)

Lastnight we BBQ'd a pork tenderloin that i had been marinading all day, in a soy sauce, brown sugar and fresh crushed garlic, it was so good.

We tend to bbq alot this time of the year, but being die hard Canadians, we bbq when its -40 out too;)

Reading everyone's posts though has made me hungry!!:)
