I was moving some big bits of wood to the back of the garden and some of them crumbled. Several of these fell out.

I'm assuming that they're some sort of solitary bee larvae and now I'm worried I've doomed them by disturbing them. I've piled things up as much as I can and they're in a much more secluded place. Are they bee larvae and will they survive?

Could be stag beetle larvae, if they have an orange face and legs, also the fact that they were in old wood. Look after them if they are!

@floralies Have just done a Google search and it's definitely them! Now I'm extra excited and worried. I piled a lot of the sawdust on them and placed more pieces of wood on top so hopefully they're well protected. They're in a far more sheltered place as well so fingers crossed they'll be OK.
