I have a feeling that it is some sort of Lavatera but am not sure. I scattered a pack of wildflower seeds from asda and this is one of the plants that came up, it has flowered profusely all summer and is about 12 inches tall/spread and the flowers are about 2 inches across, people have commented on how pretty it is and I would like to know is if it is perrennial/annual and how to propagate it for next summer as I would like several as groundcover in my back garden. I have already collected some seed pods but am not sure if it is the right time to do this and whether keeping them in a drawer till next year is the correct thing to do.

I think it`s one of the annual Mallows. Leave the flowers to die back and see if they form seed heads. If not, a packet of seed is cheap enough.:dbgrtmb::cool:

I don't think it's a Lavatera, the leaves look the wrong shape to me.
Here's a couple of pics of my dwarf Lavatera Novella, to compare. The flowers are about four inches across. :)

Thanks for the info guys it was very helpful and regarding the name Thompson and Morgan call them mallows collectively and lavatera individually so you were both right :dbgrtmb:
