Sowed my first seeds today :) some Geranium (Pelargoniums ) and some Cyclamen seeds. Cleaned the little propagator out, sprayed some aphids ( fairy liquid ) attacking some Iris reticulata, had to check the fuchsia cutting after that for more .

Yesterday removed some African Queen lily's out of a nice terracotta pot and replaced with alstroemeria which the slugs kept destroyed as soon as growth emerged. I like my lily's but they don't flower long enough, its a shame to moved a nice pot round the back of the shed after they've finished flowering. I'll repot the lily's in a cheaper pot or keep them in he plastic one.

Pulled down/up/across/in and out the Cobaea Scandens - it gets *everywhere* :phew:
Not a tough job, but I didn't want to catch the vine on anything else along the way. Tucked it away in a quiet corner to chop it up into little pieces at a later date. That was enough to be getting on with before the rain hit. I only went out in the first place to let Ozzy have a wee!

Briefly in the garden to harvest for a roast this evening; something went a bit awry with the parsnips...

I don't envy you having to peel those!! :heehee: I think some careful cutting before peeling is the answer there :blue thumb:
I bet they taste really scrummy once peeled, chopped and roasted :delish:

I did some gardening of sorts today. While I was in Morrissons looking in vain for Xmas leftovers I picked up a couple of reduced plants.

I got Santolina chamaecyparissus and Hellebore Niger. I repotted them both, added bark chippings and bonemeal and put them away safely in my newly air conditioned greenhouse (the wind tore a hole in the roof) :cry3:

I have seen a hellebores I might like at a local garden centre. Last time I checked it was yet to flower. When it does, if I like it, I might go for it. I thought if the niger I bought today flowered early enough it could help blend all my seasonal plants together. On the other hand I might use it a specimen plant in a seasonal interest pot.

While I was repotting I also managed to find a nice pot for my “special” snowdrops. They can now stay happily on my kitchen counter until such time when I can make a space in the garden.

                      :snorky:

Popped into garden centre a couple of days ago to use my free coffee vouchers ( pay £12 a year and get two free coffees each month, which are worth almost £50 ). Bought two Asters reduced to £1 each.

Have now properly sited bath pond and packed around it with sand. It has sand and gravel in the bottom and about half full of rain water. Need to dig out all the weeds and plant up. I dug out some Crocosmia bulbs over xmas as had nice weather. Not done much else. Painting computer room instead.
