A bit of sun between wind and showers.

    Potted up nine Dahlia Topmix.
I'm determined not to have these eaten by slugs and snails this year.

Sowed lots of Sweet Peas for myself and work purposes.

Tidied up some of the garden.

Potted on 3 blueberry plants that came last month and topped up old plants.

One of my favourites here Logan :)

Weather has brightened up considerably since earlier.....not long back home and hoped to get a few garden jobs done but couple of visitors turned up :) Anyway, potted up second batch of cosmos seedlings:smile:

Everything is going my way today :)

My brand new walk-in-blowaway greenhouse didn't survive the storms, the seams of the cover were not strong enough even though the structure is still standing firmly. I complained on Saturday, and this morning got an email that a replacement is on its way. No need to send the old one back. Excellent customer service! I bought some duck tape to reinforce the seams of the new house.

Went shopping, got everything I wanted and had a :ideaIPB: moment at Wilko's. Echinops Ritro! That's just the plant I want to grow in my curved border, I've grown it in containers and it's such a great shape and has a lot of character. Bought six roots which are now soaking to be potted up tomorrow.

Chiltern seeds order arrived, Agretti and Alexander palm seeds are soaking and The Teenager is very exited to sow her lemon balm tomorrow. :) I'm very exited with Azureocereus hertlingianus, "height 25 ft/ 8m". Possibly it will take longer than a season to get there :noidea: Got some nice marjoram and thyme as well, and Abutilon for houseplants. My grandmother grew them.

Impulse bought some cute Violas for £1.50 from Wilkos, they'll go in the posh artstone pots which I bought as a part of the paramilitary gardening scheme we have around here. In your face Jude! The posh pots were -75% clearance some years ago but don't tell Jude.

I have the whole week off and the weather looks fine. :)

sowed some seeds yesterday - cosmos - maurandya - sweet peas and some other I can't remember. Wrote a list down last night for moving plants and planting for the coming year lots to do. I am having a good think about Helianthus lemon queen and replacing it with sanguisorba T alba or Korean snow hmm , its a bit of a thug the Helianthus LQ and it pushes over the heleniums , on top of that I've got a thing for sanguisorba at the moment.

Sowed more seeds, so far 31 different plants done, thankfully have a lot that I can direct sow for my Dad's garden. He does love Sunflowers so I've got 4 different ones on the go here.

I have also got trays of plants that I sowed last year, all are suddenly coming on in leaps and bounds!

So love this time of year!

Tomorrow I plan to sow various Morning Glorys .I normally grow them up my tall shrubs but this year I am trying them as ground cover. My vision is to have them winding casually through all the other plants ....but in reality they will probably strangle them :yikes:. Will keep a close eye on them and see how it goes.

Might also get the Cosmos done too too:blue thumb:

Nothing today, but if it's dry tomorrow I'll "find something to do."
On the way home from golf, I bought three new clematis in Wilko's today, they were only £3.00 each. I've "identified some gaps" they can fill. So that's one of the jobs.

I wish I had Wilko's here my nearest one is more than a 300 mile round trip.

Started the process for broadening the turning area of my drive today, by marking out part of the lawn that will be dug out. That done, more gravel will be added and the rest of the drive given another layer too. I've also marked out where a trellis will stand behind my shed. I can't do these things myself so a man that lives locally comes in and does a fine job, he'll be here this week. :)

                        Sounds good Sheal :)

What a fantastic morning weather wise.....:SUNsmile::SUNsmile: simply feels like spring.:)

Beach and then work in the garden:)...potted on more tender perennials and some are now outside without any protection. Can get away with that here but in colder areas delay on doing this.

It looks like half mpc and half my own locally-sourced (cheap) compost is working well for potting on...no adverse signs yet.

Nico is now getting used to not venturing onto the garden....not 100% yet but he’s getting there:)

Have a few potted daffodils, tulips and lilies to take to my nephew tomorrow.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day:)

                          Dry day with some sun.

These are the three clematis I bought in Wilko's yesterday, for £3.00 each.
A Proteus, Candy Stripe and Carnaby. The Candy Stripe has already got a bud on it.

I've managed to "squeeze them in."

One against the garage wall, another in the corner of the azalea bed next to the patio and the third in the big pot tub next to our front door. There's a Mayleen in it that grows up the trellis next to and over top of the door.

The new one will trail around the wire I've fixed to the wall under the front room bay window.

Spent the morning potting things on, trying to cram pots on suitable windowsills and tolerating family members waving their arms towards the green walls muttering "I'm quite sure we used to have a window thereabouts..." Ha-ha, very funny, every year. It's not my fault that houses come with less windowsills I'd need for my adventures.

Sowed some more seeds (houseplants and herbs), potted the soaked Echinops up and managed to cover the entire house in soil and sand. :noidea:

After a little rest I'm planning to put up the replacement greenhouse which arrived today, duly delivered 3 houses away. Apparently the hints that the garden gate and the garage are open, and gardening noises can be heard from the back were not enough for the delivery guy who decided not to ring the doorbell but instead trying all the neighbours. Well, at least I had an opportunity to eye Jude's spring displays, my daffs are definitely bigger and also rather poshier.

I filled some of my 3 gallon pots with new potting soil and put them down in the cellar. After pepper seeds germinated awhile back I put the seedlings in an indoor growing area down there too. When it's time to put them outside, I've got everything ready to pot up and put out.

Other than that, nothing - it snowed again last night and everything out there is covered in a white blanket again :gaah:

Getting the Canuck Shineyland set up was fun. Still need to print off a Jack and fly it in there. :)

of course this is me being optimistic as the seeds only arrived here last week and I'm hoping lots germinate in spite of my attentions :fingers crossed:
