 I am about to purchase 1 Itr. of Roundup Weedkiller.
At my local Garden Centre it is £39.99.
Amazon is £26.24. It seems to be the same.
Or is there somewhere or something that is cheaper.
    Your thoughts please.

That sounds ridiculously expensive. I use Glyphosate 360 (360g/L) which costs approx. £34 for 5 Litres delivered (but I've just seen some sellers with some for £25 with free deliv).

@roders What strength was the 'concentrate' you looked at because most shops only sell 96g/litre glyphosate.

The patent on Tumbleweed and Round-up expired some time ago, meaning that you can buy generic glyphosate quite cheaply, which is the active ingredient in both the above. Good for you, Roders, not falling for the old 'ready-mixed' trick, which is basically paying for mostly water. I'm convinced that the ready-to-use sprays are over diluted.

I use Wilko's brand and it works just as well as Round-Up. :)

Wilkos 'concentrate is only 90g/litre, containing 75% less glyphosate than the 360g/litre concentrate that actually costs less per litre.

The only way to work out what's the best value is to check the cost per gramme of glyphosate:

£25 (the cheapest) for 5L of 360g/L delivered from ebay = 1.4p/g. When I bought mine the cheapest was £34.50, costing 2p/g.

                    £10 for 1L of 90g/L from Wilkos = 11p/g

Yes, I figured it could be got less per litre, but noted that Roders was only looking for 1 litre.

                      But 1L of 360g/L = 4L of 90g/L @ £10 each from Wilkos = £40 would mean it's cheaper to buy 5L of 360g/L from ebay for £25 (£28.61 at Amazon).

P.S. 1L of 360g/L costs £14.25 from ebay (£14.95 at Amazon), but for only £10.75 more you get an extra 4L. @ £2.69/L
