Suddenly noticed that white patches have appeared on my tomatos and some other flower plants - lots of others have not been touched. They're all currently in pots, prior to transfer to garden for the summer What is it? what caused by? pot bound?
    TIA
    Bryan

I'd agree about the sun scorch - easily solved by putting a few sticks in and draping some shading over the plants when necessary.
You should be able to tell when they need potting on to slightly larger pots when roots appear out of the pot base. Alternatively, you could always tip one of them out and see what the roots are like - sometimes they just circle round the pot rather than growing downwards.

I feel it is too blotchy for sun damage. Possibly a nutrient deficiency or a mosaic disease of some kind. As it is so uniform on all of the plants my guess would be nutrition. I think I might try a quarter
strength feed of tomato feed for a couple of weeks to see what happens.

Bit of an update - re- sunscorch . This was puzzling me because all my other young plants in pots hadn’t had scorch . But take a look at the locations I had these sun schorched plants on the pixs. Just wondered if reflected light from greenhouse had intensified the heat ?

If your plants were grown in seed compost which has low nutrient levels, they may need to be potted on now with fresh compost or planted out.
