My sunflowers have now all died off and I was wondering what to do with them.I know the bird's like the seed's so was thinking of hanging them from some tree branches but any suggestions welcomed.

Depends on what you want to do with them?
        - You could cut them off, put them somewhere to dry and then harvest the seeds for sowing next year.
        - You could leave them as they are and let the birds harvest them.
        - If you think they look untidy, then chop the tops off and hang them from branches and compost the stems
        - depending on the type, you could dry them, harvest the seeds and then cook them for eating/baking with.

I'm leaving mine as they are for the birds to harvest ... except for one head which I'm going to save the seed of for sowing next year.

Paul, I put mine on the bird feeder each year. As they dry I put more on there.

I still have some in flower, i will leave these to help protect the bamboo and feed the birds through the winter.
