What will replace this saying?

    "It's like painting the Forth Bridge"

    We have used this saying, to mean it is a never ending job, for years.

    The way they are painting it at the moment they reckon that when they finish in 2012 it will not need repainting for between 25 and 40 years. I also wonder whether they wil be right as it was supposed to be finished last year :hehe:.

    Can you think of a saying to replace it?

    i didnt know there was a saying about the forth bridge. i knew about the new paint tho, cos i saw it on QI :thumb:

    i cant think of a replacement, but i do know this similar one
    "cleaning the house while kids are growing is like shovellnig snow while its still snowing" aint that the truth!

    Only one I can think of is "Like repairing the M25"

    I'm sure there must be much better ones that could be created.
