I thought I had better start this for 2016
    Old thread here...

Our pheasants have returned to the garden as the winter is arriving.

We have had seven females popping in most days but the males are have only been around occasionally.

Early this morning four of them turned up :blue thumb: (Low light levels)

We have an overwintering female Blackcap that has decided to stay here overwinter or has come across from Europe for the winter.I have had in the past had an overwintering male Blackcap feeding on my purple Callicarpa berries but the female loves them as well:biggrin:

Was going to upload a photo of it but the error message has come up to say that the file is too large so I am afraid you won't get to see her:sad:

Can you resize it? I have often done it for other forums using windows photo gallery.

Hi Strongy,I haven't a clue how to resize it as I took the photo with my little camera and then took a photo of the photo with my iPad whilst viewing the photo on the camera.I will have to ask Mr Kandy when he gets home if he can do it for me.The bird was too far away to take a decent photo with the iPad as I was at the kitchen sink so was trying to get the photo through the window of it down the garden:scratch:

I upload mine from the camera into my docs and then open them in photo gallery and resize. Not sure about ipads and such so Mr K might be able to help.

went down and filled 4 suet containers. the birds are fluttering about. I keep the containers hung by a group of conifers, so in the winter they do not have far to fly to get out of their little wind breaking warm hide away.

Yes, Fern4, those are the ones. The male watches over the female while she eats and then vice versa.

                          They are beautiful.

Thank you for looking them up.
