I've copied it, I've rotated it, but it still comes out sideways.

Hi, JWK, My secret to growing and getting a Canna to flower so early is...................the pic was taken last year:dunno::whistle::heehee:
I only posted the pic to kick off this thread. All of my Cannas stayed out in the cold during the Winter and have survived with them starting to show signs of growth.:coffee::biggrin:

          Lovely Canna - Armandii

Peter - I am really envious of that Amorphophallus. I have had a go with one or two, but the tubers rot so easily that I have given up. I have now seen two A. titanums (without flower), at Kew and the Eden Project) - and they are superb plants.

Pete snap. This picture dates from last year. It has flowered again this year but I didn't get chance for a photograph.

Nigel yours looks better than mine.
I've since realised I should have waited another day to take the picture, mine looks better today.

If you would like another go Peter, I'm sure I could find a few smaller tubers you could grow on.

Pete - that's very kind of you, but currently I have more plants than I have space for. I need to get rid of some before I can acquire anything new.

Brugmansia 'Charles Grimaldi's are coming on. Recently identified, thanks to Victoria and Wayne.

Tibouchina urvilleana is in flower again - normal time is autumn. The prominent stamens are fascinating.

Streptosolen jamesonii - the marmalade bush.

Asclepias curassavica - now in its third year from seed. I always have a soft spot for my own seed grown plants.

Pachystachys lutea - just coming back into its stride. This is a very long flowering plant.

I really miss my Tibouchina. Here's a photo I took of the stamens after the petals had fallen............

Lovely picture LongK. Just the structure of different flowers would be a fascinating study by itself. Hibiscus - especially schizopetalus, and Passiflora instantly spring to mind - but there must be more. Perhaps worthy of their own thread.
