Erysimum 'Chelsea Jacket' (perennial wallflower) is beginning to open a bit more

Lots of purple fennel are sprouting everywhere. We would normally lift the young ones and sell them at the Open Garden :noidea:

Sophora microphylla (not to be confused with Sophora japonica if buying it). This has finally really got going in the last week or two.

More down to earth (literally :heehee:) is the humble violet. The normal violet  coloured one tends to spread like mad and I'm forever digging them out as they seem to get everywhere - but I like them. They come in different tones

Plus white :rolleyespink: which is not so invasive - our white ones have bigger leaves

This is the first one that I've ever found that is bicoloured

I've bought (and planted :) ) some like that (Narcissus "Rainbow of Colours"). I think they are incredibly ugly. That's all.

In 2018 I was slow off the mark sowing wallflower seed (my first time trying them) and by last spring my stunted little plants showed no sign of flowering. Since space is a premium in my garden - if something isn't earning it's keep it doesn't get a second chance - I was ready to chuck them in the compost, but a few on here (I think mainly @shiney and @Verdun) encouraged me to keep them for this year. Worth it :)

(Does anyone know Verdun in "real life" to know if he's ok? I've been missing him and his photos )
